Our lab is part of the Department of Biological Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University and is located in the Mellon Institute. We are affiliated with the Center for the Neural Basis of Cognition (CNBC) at CMU and the Center for Neuroscience at the University of Pittsburgh (CNUP). We work in the areas of cell and synaptic physiology, computational neuroscience, especially computational olfaction, and on the understanding of mechanisms of synchronous oscillations in networks of neurons.
In addition to his research, Dr. Urban also teaches the Biology Department courses, Cellular Neuroscience and Advanced Cellular Neuroscience and participates in a number of other courses at CMU and the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Urban also is co-director of the Program in Neural Computation (PNC) – a Ph.D. program of the CNBC.
Our lab in the Mellon Institute is not easy to find without directions.
